About Sam

I have always loved to draw and paint, but I lacked the courage to pursue it in when I was younger.

In the last few years, my work has started to attract the attention of people around me and I now share more of my finished pieces (when my perfectionist streak allows it)! I have enjoyed the art shows I’ve participated in; finding a fantastic community of insanely talented people provides me with endless motivation to keep going. After dabbling in different media, I have found a love of acrylic paint; in particular, the variety of effects and depth of colour I can achieve, as well as the quick drying time which suits my impatient personality perfectly.

What inspires me? Brave people. Beautiful scenery, particularly in the countryside around my home. The quirky aspects of everyday things we often miss when we’re not paying attention. I am currently working on pieces that reflect the places we go or the things we do to relax or find solitude. I’m also drawn to great light-filled scenes for darkness and light contrast, and I’d like to experiement with some different perspective pieces.
